Katch Kan Rig Cruise
The Annual Katch Kan Rig Cruise Car, Bike & Truck Show & Shine was a tremendous success this year.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff as well as the generosity of others a lot of money was raised for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Two members from our management team – Mitch Cooper and Maria Politti – presented a cheque of $10,127.83 to the Foundation.
This is the third year the event has been held in the Katch Kan parking lot and adjacent street. This year more than 6 dozen impressive vehicles of all types were on display.
For the first time, part of the fundraising effort included what turned out to be a very popular attraction – a dunk tank. The aforementioned Politti, as well as Katch Kan Founder, President and CEO Quinn Holtby and professional mixed martial artist and former UFC competitor Tim “The Thrashing Machine” Hague all took turns getting dunked.
There was also a bake sale, bbq and a chance for people to test their skills at taking off and putting on a wheel. The event ended just before the storm clouds rolled in. But nothing could dampen the spirits of those involved in the fundraiser.
Again a big thank you to staff, volunteers, participants and those who took in the event and helped out with their generosity. Since the Show and Shine started a total of $28,310.84 have been raised for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
